For those who don’t know me, my name is Alida, and I have proudly called South River home for over 10 years. I grew up in and around North Bay, and I feel deeply connected to the families and communities of the Almaguin Highlands.
I completed my Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Nipissing University in 2006, followed by a Social Service Worker diploma from Canadore College in 2013. I went on to spend over a decade working with Hands in North Bay, supporting individuals and families through a wide range of challenges. During this time, I also operated a licensed home childcare program for nearly seven years, further strengthening my understanding of child development and family dynamics.
Driven by a passion for helping others grow and heal, I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) through Yorkville University.
My work is rooted in supporting children and families in achieving their goals and creating calmer, more connected home environments. I also advocate for my clients in a variety of capacities, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered.
In addition to my work with families, I support individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, and trauma, offering a compassionate and collaborative space for healing and growth.
